Deletion (but still on file!)

OK, so my last post weirded out Susan and I was asked to pull it. It was admittedly a bit creepy -- intentionally so. No matter how you slice the cucumber, the slow death of a loved one from congestive heart failure is excruciating and emotionally draining to both victim and survivors. My point was to suggest that what I was feeling (and continue to feel) I had identified with some of the meanings implicit in gory religious symbolism. And that such symbols can be helpful in grappling with things unknown, even if they are attached to doctrines I don't embrace. But no matter, with a click of the mouse it all goes away! The gore was indeed pretty intense for a Christmas post. Or even an Easter post. So we're back to Scandic Jesus with the chaps on the Sea of Galilee. Not those chaps, the 'mates' kind. Still at sea...
Now that Christmas is past (and present and future), I'm trying to turn to happier themes. As they say, I'll keep you posted... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 2009 sucked, let's all hope that 2010 is better!
